OLIVER!
About the Show:
March 2, 3, 4, and 5, 2023
At the Rylander Theatre
By special arrangement with
Music Theatre International
Directed by: Irmgard Schopen-Davis
Music Director: Carrie Poe
Choreographer: Sierra Kelley
Based on Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, Oliver! tells the story of the orphan who immortalized the line “Please, sir, I want some more.” He is raised in a workhouse, runs away from his employer, and falls in with a gang of pickpockets who use him to commit robberies. Through happy and unhappy coincidences he meets up with his grandfather, with whom he is happily reunited.
The show has many roles for actors, singers, and dancers for children, teenagers, young adults, and older adults. Casting is done without regard to race or gender. I am attaching a list of character descriptions for you to look over. (Please note, the "Artful Doger" is really called the "Artful Dodger" -- excuse the typo!)
